| Home of Jonathan Stone, built about 1800. | |
| Anne Whitney's birthplace, Galen Street, moved to Water Street. This house was built by James Barton in 1715. It was sold to John Hunt in 1745. Joseph Warren boarded here during the session of the Provincial Congress in 1775. He breakfasted in the room marked with an X and left afterward to rode to Bunker Hill, June 17, 1775. It was later owned by Nathaniel Whitney, Jr. and in it was born Anne Whitney, September 2, 1821. It was bought from Nathaniel Whitney, Jr. by my grandfather, Luke Robinson, who lived here the rest of his life. He died September 1, 1870. In this house I was born November 26, 1860. This house was demolished May 8, 1935. G.F. Robinson | |
